Episode 6 opens with a telegram for Lady Edith! Whatever it may be, you don’t have to think about it: You know it is going to be bad news. What else could it be?
But the truth is she has been thinking about Gregson, the publisher and father of Marigold, for years, wondering where the heck he was. We know this because Marigold looks like she is about three! Was he dead? Gambling? Lost? Turns out: Dead. But all that thinking about him didn’t do poor Edith a jot of good, and in fact it made her glum, sullen, and unpopular at parties. Quelle dommage!
