Downton Abbey’s Lesley Nicol wants Mrs Patmore to find love before the show ends

The actress admits that she will miss Downton Abbey when it ends.

Downton Abbey actress Lesley Nicol wants her character Mrs Patmore to find love before the show ends.

The successful ITV period drama ends after six series this Christmas, though it has been tipped to return in a movie spinoff.”Will I miss it? Oh lordy yes. The Christmas special will happen, and then there’s talk of a film… but we don’t know,” Nicol told ITV’s This Morning.

“It’s not like any other job. There’ll be some tears for sure… We’re all very much aware that we are halfway through [filming] this season now.”

Of whether Mrs Patmore will have a fairytale ending, Nicol said: “I don’t think I’ll be sacked now… I’ve been putting in orders for a companion or a puppy.

“She has been looking for love and I think it would be nice. I have put in a few suggestions but we don’t know until he decides what to do. And I’m not saying who!”
